I’ve had this code for at least 7 yrs. (Low ecm battery). Anyone ever replace the battery? Anyone know who sells them?

It's just a 4.5v battery. Something like a cordless phone battery works great.

Do you know if I’ll lose any needed info? Soldering in a new one? Maybe stored codes only?

The proper battery is a little more complicated than a 4.5 volt battery pack. Too bad, my wife used to make those, the proper battery is available. I’ll call the company Tomorrow, will update.

Looks to Me, there’s a special battery, Used for circuit boards. I really don’t know, but will find out tomorrow. Original battery doesn’t look like a cordless phone 3 battery power pack, or any other standard battery. My wife used to work at a place that made battery packs, She soldered them all day, all different types. According to her, a phone battery pack isn’t the right type of battery. I’m not saying it won’t work. I want to replace the original one with the same type. She says it’s a long life continuos draw battery, made specifically for circuit boards. She hasn’t worked there for 15 yrs. My guess is Shes right, cause She always is. Lol. Maybe tomorrow, I’ll know more.

I found the original battery, it’s a 3.5 volt “Keeper” brand. High quality lithium battery, shouldn’t be a big deal, soldering a new one in. Can’t keep the heat on it longer than 5 seconds, and supposed to use new solder, not re flow. I’m gonna let my wife do the job. That way, I can blame her if it doesn’t work, Lol. waiting on a call back. Detroit Dealer was no help, offered a rebuilt for $1900. Just what I suspected. Got to do everything yourself these days!!!
