Could be. But I have seen hiring standards fall all across the industry, as well. Anything to save a buck because heavens forfend we should do anything to raise rates.

I'm wondering if these companies that are closing have been legit W-2 companies or shady 1099 type operations?

Nothing on the news about Paschall Truck Lines shutting down. That would be every bit as big as Celadon's death.

No, the major factor was that it was a half ***ed trucking company started by a former driver, I know the dude.
He's getting old and no one has the wits to run it.
Its been all but out of business for the last 3 years.
Mort was a good guy and built a really decent regional trucking company. Just no one in the gene pool to make it work.RedForeman, autopaint, misterG and 1 other person Thank this.
