Wyoming used to broadcast on Noaa weather radio. Top and bottom of the hour they would broadcast wind speeds at various locations across I 80. I haven't been through there in some time so I don't know if they still do it but it sure used to come in handy when deciding where/if to stop.

I think the reason he helped me was the story I told him the first time when he approached me. He commended that I was working hard and I told him a story of two frogs that fell into a jar of a cream. They kept jumping to get out but the jar was too deep. One frog says to another “look we are going to drown here. I am too tired and I give up.”.So she drowns. The second frog keeps jumping and churns a cream to butter which sticks to the bottom of a jar. So she jumps out of a jar. State trooper laughed and left. I remember him telling me that I churned a cream to a butter as I was leaving that rest area.

For God's sake, never take 395 from Bishop to Reno. Take 6 in Bishop to 360, to 95, to 50, to 80 through Fernley.
It's only about a 20 minute difference to Reno, even in perfect weather, avoid 395 from Bishop to Reno taking the 6/360/95/50/i80. The only pass you have to worry about is Grant's and it's basically half of a cabbage hill. -
Yes they still broadcast it, seems to only be updated on the hour.Upinsmoke Thanks this.

Amazon has a slave driver mentality.
I wonder how much that driver felt pushed by the company to drive such a light load through such heavy winds.
Credit to the driver, however. He/she kept the shiny side up.
Too often not the case.Trucker61016 and Upinsmoke Thank this. -
I own my truck, trailer and authority (car hauler) and I get paid enough to go to Wyoming or I don’t go there in winter. Wind is no problem for my car hauler (high mount trailer).Upinsmoke Thanks this.

I remember driving in wyoming when i was with werner when it was that windy u can feel ur trailer sliding around. Black ice early morning a truck that passed me too fast about 5 miles up ahead that same truck and 2 cr englands were crashed in the ditch.
Upinsmoke Thanks this. -
I just saw a longer clip of that accident.
The Amazon driver was passing another truck about a minute earlier, and clearly driving way too fast.
