    My goal was 120K.
    Worked every holiday.
Took 10 unpaid days off and 4 weeks vacation.
    Tallied up 119K
I feel like such a failure...:)
Mucho success and good health to everybody in the new year.

    Yeah all of you mean old schoolers can suck it. I started posting here late 2017 about transitioning from Uber driver to truck driver. There was some support but mostly;

You won't make over $35k gross first year, especially with Swift! (I made over 50k dry van west thanks to bonuses and unlimited freight, as predicted).

Yeah dude, you are a worthless maggot until you hit 2 years xperience. BS. my current gig (not Swift) pays 70k+, 6 month experience only required. Home daily, 2 full days off. About $1100 in my pocket weekly, single, after all deductions including benefits.

Do and don't listen to all of the BS around here.

My favorite: ALL MEGAS SUCK! Go mom and pop, dummy! OMG, fools. Work for has the money and the freight, it ain't Jim Bob Plumly!

Lol I was just mentioning it in another thread.

Everybody has different work ethics and expectations.

I heard the same songs when I started trucking, but I made decent money my 1st yr in trucking. I try and tell the new drivers they can do it if the motivation is there. Just because they hear about other driver failures doesn't mean they will suffer that same fate.

It's all about what you make of it, work smarter not harder, and eat a piece of humble pie every now and again.

D.Tibbitt, Lonesome and CK73 Thank this.

Being honest my first year driving in 2018 was more about visiting almost every casino with truck parking in Nevada and rotating between a 34 reset and two full days off week to week. It felt like more paid vacation vs. work. I love trucking in the west, and scratch my head at the high turnover rate. If you hate trucking you just ain't doing it right, IMHO.

    You know the saying

"You'll never work if you love doing it."

    #### right! Buy a portable grill and enjoy the medium rare steaks at any given rest area like God intended. If we are not king of the road, who is?

Lol man, I thought I was the only one hobo grilling at the truck stops/ rest areas. I've yet to come across a driver outside cooking anything
