You're right. It's the government ones you will not touch.

You would have black Suburbans and helicopters escorting you avoiding the scales. :biggrin_25525:

    Be safe.

I would imagine a scalemaster would be looking in awe at the amount of firepower and escorts as they blew by.

I've never seen them with a helo but I have stored their weapons. They do stop at the scales for curtsey but no one will open the trailer.

Isn't there a prescibed dialog before entering the vehicle?

Probable cause, you are joking right? You are a truck driver, they can do any #### thing they want to you anytime they want. Oh, and what does asking permission matter? Even if they did, if you don't give it they are just going to do it any way, except NOW they have a reason to suspect you of something.

Where in the heck do you people come up with these ideas?

i am pretty sure the log book ticket can get thrown out because of wrong birthday on it so just pay the speeding ticket because if you get stop again and they run your birthdate it shouldn't show up as you

This has been an entertaining thread and bottom line is in the interest of Homeland Security officers can do about anything they want whether you are in a truck or at home.

My problem with DOT officers is this. Say a driver has some stupid minor violaton and they find something minor wrong with the truck. They give the driver a ticket and give you an ispection for the company to fix there problem. I wish if they wanted to collect a fine why not fine you for the truck problem. The company would pay for that but instead you get a ticket that comes out of your pocket. The company has more money than I do.

Oops, this is old. Anyway, I'm using the alarm clock feature on my cell phone which also automatically changes with the time zone. So, I have to set it correctly to make sure I don't oversleep or something. It requires a tiny bit of thinking to do it, which I'm usually not wanting to do after 9 hours on duty.
