Why is the Oregon weight-distance tax so high?

DO NOT TAKE THAT ROUTE. Trucks are not advised on the west end of the route. There are 5 tunnels that have 12 foot or less clearance’s right on the fog line and you’ll only clear if you center up going through them but most of them are on corners so you cant tell if the other direction is clear or not.

How ever if you wanna cross on HWY 97 at Biggs junction and run 14 east to the tri cities thats fine but 97 to I5 is not advised.

 

No, instead if your paycheck comes from a job that even remotely has a building in OR, they deduct a ridiculous "Transit Tax" regardless of what line of work you're in, or if you're a resident there. They also deduct an absurd amount of income taxes that goes to the state level, regardless of whether you're a resident. I literally pay more in OR state taxes than I do in FEDERAL taxes, and I don't even live on that side of the river. One bright side of the fact that I'm considering enlisting; I can actually leave my current job and never have to worry about that taxation without representation ######## again

 

sure...take the 15 north to Montana then west on the 90 into Washington state thru Spokane...Oregon DOES NOT HONOR THE PRE PASS ANYWAYS

 

Unless something's changed in the last year and a half that I didn't hear about, that's hella false... got plenty of green lights and bypasses running through Oregon over the course of my career

 

I thought OR was NorPass?

Anyway, when we loaded out of UT for WA and were too heavy to cross Oregon because they figure the inner bridge differently, we’d take 95 up to Lewiston ID and then head west to the Tri Cities.

 

Honestly don't know what their primary system is... but I do know that they honor PrePass, from firsthand experience
