too hot

    i have a freightliner classic with an n14 and lately my cooling fan comes on at 210 and shuts off at 205.is there a fan timer on freighliners?
    my last truck was a ford ltl9000 with the n14 and it had a 3 minute fan timer that i had to replace a couple of times in 6 years,but i can't find one in my freightliner.HELP!!!!!!!!!!

    Thats about the same as my fan on my n14 runs. Mine wont ever get that hot unless its pulling pretty hard or in this summer weather just pulling decent.

    If your engine is maintaining 210 and not going higher I wouldn't freak-out.Ask your EPA why engines run hotter than previous years.

    If it is running hotter than what it used to, you probably only need the rad power-washed. You may have a layer of dirt, or bugs, partially blocking air flow. Usually we have to partially remove the air-to-air cooler to get in there to clean out the rad. Have a look.

    heads have no cracks rite..my guess tho would be its a combo of things.

    if the engine has been rebuilt, its gonna cause it to run warmer now than before, because of the decrease in the cylinder walls thickness also.
