I'm located in Florida, and would like to only be away for a few days at most.
Does anyone know of some companies in Florida that they know of?
I'm a newbie, and appreciate all the help!

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I'm wet behind the ears.
New to it all.
And to be honest I don't mind any of the freights. -
Sorry bro, I can't think of anybody hiring thats willing to train. Best of luck, try any small local companies. Bang on all the doors you can.........
This economy has things screwed up, if times were better you'd have a better chance. -
If you have no experience you would then need to consider a starter company. If your looking for local work anywhere in Florida plus if you have no experience, good luck.Pass 12 months now I havent found any company that wants newbies from florida. Also local you wouldnt get until you get at lease a year of experience on your belt.
panhandlepat Thanks this. -
D/H is having the same problem with 20yrs safe driving experience and being an o/o for the past 9. Right now he's # Link America orientation, recruiter boofoo as they are not hiring o/o's at the moment. Might get on anyway, his decision. One I know to stay away from is Loadstar in Lutz, FL. Totally unethical, nearly bankrupt ( in more than one way) and likely to be gone real soon. Good luck on the search.

Nope, I think you are out of luck. IF you could get hired in FL, and IF you weren't a student, then you would not be able to just spend a few days out.
You will have a near to impossible chance of being hired even to stay 4-5 weeks at a time out of FL. Sorry dude. -
hmmm... Interesting.
Is this just because of the economy? Or is it a crap shoot on new drivers obtaining employment. -
i just got home last night the 11th, i was out 5 weeks and head back out on mon. th 17th.
this is for me the best way to keep my miles up and bills paid. -
ive been driving for two and a half years and i still cant get anything in central florida. and im applying left and right.
