I was not given the keys for my sleeper doors on my truck.
I did drill the lock out but I got carried away I guess and I ended up drilling the whole entire everything out. I did not damage the door and everything came out but the door is still locked.
I can't get behind the door to see what the latch looks like. If I take the mattress out and the piece that's underneath of it can I get down to the doors that way?
If so, how difficult is it to get that out and get to the doors?

Ignition key opens bunk door.
Yes lift mattress. Full access and more storage space.
Your mattress shelf hinges off back wall. The rod you see about middle of front support is the latch.Last edited: Jan 9, 2020
Dino soar Thanks this. -
You drilled the door latch out. You have a hole in the door.
Put your left pinkie in the hole finger end towards rear.
You will feel a piece of metal. That needs to be pushed up with your finger.
Moves easier if you push in the door with otherhand.feldsforever and Dino soar Thank this. -
My starter key worked in my under bunk door but had to push in on it at same time even after lube it with wd-40

My under bunk door is different then my ignition key. You didn't need to drill a hole through it. You could have just raised the bed and taken it apart or opened it from the inside

I did not drill a hole in it. I drilled out the lock.
I have new locks to put in because my key doesn't work them.
I probably will take the bunk out and go down and open them that way and I can put the new locks in.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
I’ve never seen one that doesn’t lift up, it’s a nice feature,on hinges, lots of storage.

Yes that was what the bunks did in those model trucks. Lifted up to about 55 degrees and under there you could carry so much crap. I recall in the center box we carried the main part of our water and other heavy supplies. Right side was the clean side while the left side box was what held the inverter, fluids and dirty rags etc. (Ventilation was pretty good in those days, its amazing how that big inverter did not light everything ablaze or vapors etc.
Those doors were pretty good for what they were in those days as well.Rideandrepair and Dino soar Thank this.
