Well Hometime, you and your husband are making it OK, at least right now, which is a lot more than some folks can say. I understand his feelings of hurting pride, however, you might point out to him that he is not alone. Far from it.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with you being the primary bread winner right now. I'm sure that it has not always been this way in your marriage. I'm also sure that this will change on down the road.

As long as he is doing the best he can, with what he has, then he is doing OK. Sure, times are tough, but they will get better, eventually. Just keep trying to keep his spirits up, and let him know how important he is to you, and how much you appreciate how hard he is trying.

There will come a time when you two can look back on this time of financial trials, and know that they made you stronger, both as a couple, and as individuals.

Thanks Big Don. I appreciate your thoughts. It is tough but as I reminded hubby last night we have survived worse. We will somehow survive this too. My prayer is that times get better for all of us soon.

The thing that irritates me most about USX is Pat Quinn , their CEO was the one most vocal as an ATA chairman pushing for speed limiters . What right does somebody that runs a company in this financial shape that has also been fined for log book falsification in a 2006 audit have to try to tell other profitable , compliant companies how to run their trucks ?
When USX turns a profit :laughing-guffaw:, and gets their drivers to quit speeding anywhere with less than a 70 m.p.h. speed limit and falsifying there logs , then let Quinn try to come back and talk about benefits of speed limiters .

IN OUR ECONOMIC TIMES OF HARDSHIP, PAY CUTS BECOME NECESSARY TO KEEP THE COMPANY IN BUSINESS. WOULD YOU RATHER WORK FOR A LITTLE LESS OR NOT AT ALL.

I'VE BEEN THROUGH SEVERAL RECESSIONS AND THIS IS THE WORST SO FAR BECAUSE IT'S WORLDWIDE.

    BE PATIENT.

Pay cuts for drivers or office employees. It really doesn't matter 'cause we all know that means an automatic price cut for everything we the consumers buy, right? Yeah, RIGHT!!!! AMERICA! What's it gonna take? The dark circles under the eyes and extended bellies of our children? You, as Americans should know what needs to be done. All you have to do is do it!
