We have plenty of texas freight but climate requires one or two years experience. They won't hire straight outta trucking school unless you're related to someone that currently drives for us that could train you.

Also i don't know anything about them first hand but I've heard that stevens transport is a good starter company an i believe they're headquartered somewhere in texas. FFE would be another company to check into.

Not much , I'd say we got about 3 inches on the ground here at home. It's turned into freezing rain. Supposed to make 40 degrees but then the bottom gonna fall out to 4 degrees tomorrow night.

LMAO. Your talking smack about me. Dude, your felonies will only get you crap bottom of the barrel companies to drive for. Those never go away. My driving record cleans itself up in due time. Probably only janitorial work you could land with your felonies. The pilot flying j hires felons to clean showers. Too funny

The real cost of operation comes from the huge conglomerate corporations that hold the money and power dictating how much insurance costs, which is all focused on the parent companies of the insurance companies maximizing profits. Weather it be health insurance, car insurance, or liability insurance for a company, it doesn’t need to cost as much as it does for the insurers to turn a profit. But, those entities are not satisfied with turning a profit. They expect to make record-breaking profits each quarter because they promise that to their investors. But, no one wants to hold the big banks accountable. So, they #### us. Welcome to a free market society.

I know plenty of felons that work for big companies and small mom/pop companies. Your opinions don’t move nor deter me. I know felons that have worked for great companies and ones that work for Carolina Cargo. There was no “smack” talking. I see it and tell it just as I see it. Feeling some kind of way about it? I must have hit home some kind of way. If not why are you shooting back with a put-down? You guys on here talk like convicted felons don’t get hired in decent jobs. LMAO. I loaded/unloaded trucks at G&K Services (later known as Cintas). Did my background keep me from being recommended for shift lead? No. Why? Because I bust my ###. Do you bust your ### or just run your mouth? I’ll have a trucking job, and it may start at the bottom, but I know I won’t stay there. Why? Because I bust my ### and get it done. Just remember, I might be your manager one day. You never know.

Thanks for the reply back. Once I get some time with another company, I’ll definitely be keeping Climate in mind.

Stevens has a training facility in Dallas. Also, has a large terminal here. I tried to see about hiring on with them to go to their school in 2013, but lack of verifiable work history nixed that. Maybe with a bit more work history and not needing them to pay for my CDL training they’ll consider giving me a shot. It is looking like working for CRST and making the best of it is going to be my best option.

It doesn’t have to be my only option, because there is TONS of work in trucking here, but so far it is the only company to give me any consideration. I have hated living in Texas for a lot of years, but I must say that it is probably better here trying to get into the trucking industry than in L.A. where I am from originally.

Well said. That joker really dont know what they are talking about. First off, those felonies are over a decade old. That wont even stop you from finding work. You gotta good plan for real. A large number of drivers have checkered pasts and do just fine. If I were you, I would check National Carriers down there, and I would call Western Express. I did alright in their flatbed division. Many folks talk trash about Western but for me it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. They're good in terms of getting your foot in the door.
