Having the same issue now on my 07 Volvo D16. Doesn't do it all the time once or twice a week. Had this issue last year but it was the filter housing leaking. Fixed it solved problem then it came back. Changed fuel check valve on head problem solved. Now a year later same issue extended start air in tanks. Not thinking its the cups because on my other Volvo I had leaking cups and it was putting fuel in my coolant. Anybody solve there problem.

We found a leak in on of the fuel lines, the one that was ziptied together with air dryer hose, it was rubbed and gouged. Temporary fixed until finish of this trip and planning to replace the entire fuel line. So far no hard start and no bubbles. Hopefully this was the issue.

The other issue that could occur if the computer doesnt know where top dead center is it could potentially try to push air into the fuel system. Which means you need to clean the crankshaft sensor. Or check wiring to it.

The problem was solved replacing the 6 injectors and cups. Good luck to you and go back to the same dealer since you have a warranty on yours.

I’m having a similar issue. I have an 06 Pete 387 with a Cat C15 Acert. I don’t lose prime but I have air bubbles in the DAVCO and I have to change the filter sometimes twice a week because the filter get dirty really quick. Any suggestions. I’ve started by replacing the DAVCO, transfer fuel pump, changed about 4 fuel lines including the one from the pick up tube on drivers tank. I’ve checked both pick up tubes it appears to have no cracks. I’m gonna continue this drawn out journey please help.

On my 2010 Volvo D13 looking in the fuel tanks I see like a back pressure (not bubble) coming out of the pick up tubes in both tanks. No bubbles in Davco filter housing except I can barely see the fuel in it. The truck cranks and starts right up no problem there. The only problem is when driving every now and then it shakes like waves of vibration, mostly when climbing a hill, and when I let off the gas and step back on it seems to like catch and smoothing out but then I’ve already lost power going up the hill. I replaced the vent valves on the tank but no change. Coolant reservoir doesn’t have any sign of fuel, Coolant is normal.

Also it seems to have affected the regeneration, the truck will not complete a regen and it throws a code for the aftertreatment shut off valve (Mid 128 SId 328 Fmi 14) I replaced the valve, the fuel pressure sensor on the housing and the aftertreatment purge valve but still no change.

Any ideas where/what to check? Greatly appreciated!
