My exact words before I even read yours. I’ve had trucks side swiped but that’s more like getting ran over!
I’d demand a rental truck from the insurance company. You could see a month of downtime over this.JonJon78, jammer910Z, Socal Xpress and 1 other person Thank this. -
Do they normally do that?Last edited: Jan 24, 2020

ohh man !
Looks quite expensive damage, hope is just hood not axle or front of the frame to cause endless alignment problems.
Well it's hard to find parking, yes the last spot is dangerous, i feel safer sleeping on ramps where in possible. I read that most trucking insurance claims are caused by crashes in truck stops during parking/backing, not sure if is true.Socal Xpress Thanks this. -
No. However you can get them to reimburse you for actual costs of a rental. However 99% of 1 truck owners couldn't get a rental if their life depended on it. Ryder and penske are the big rental outfits and they won't even consider it unless you got stellar credit and a sizable deposit.Coffey and Socal Xpress Thank this.

@062 spoke too soon. They contacted my lawyer and the body shop. The driver admitted to hitting my parked truck on the police report and to Trans Am. Things are progressing in the right direction.
