Well everyone...today will be my last day in the business.
The last two months I’ve made a total of 2000 dollars. I’ve begged, Ive threatened, ive applied for other trucking jobs, nothing promising.
frankly, after the jerk around that Pams given me, and the shady people I’ve had to talk to trying to get a different job...I’ve just had such a bad taste put in my mouth that I’m having issues trusting any trucking company.
this last week was the last straw: my son had a seizure and ended up in the ICU. I was in PA and had to get back to MI...took over a week, 4 of which were days I just sat on my ###. It’s one thing to sit and make money, it’s a very different thing to be making 100 dollars max a week, sit on your ###, while your son is in the hospital.
At this point, I’m too afraid to get into another trucking company and screw my family over any further.
I wish I would’ve joined this forum before signing on to Pam, things might have been very different...
It’s back to cooking I guess!
Goodbye all!

Sorry about your son its sucks if you have a clean record try getting a local job with an ltl company or ask @Chinatown he finds some interesting companiesBigDog Trucker, LtlAnonymous, Cabinover101 and 3 others Thank this.

Ya China’s been a big help, and he did get me a few promising leads. However at this point, my finances have become so screwed trying to keep a family of 5 afloat on 100 bucks a week, that I need guaranteed/consistent work. The whole “on average” thing now terrifies me to no end.Rideandrepair, LtlAnonymous and G13Tomcat Thank this.

I wish I could quit. Right now I don't have a better option than trucking. You could buy your own truck like I did if your tired of the bs companies give you. It's ok but once you get in its hard to get outPE_T, Rideandrepair, LtlAnonymous and 2 others Thank this.

Ya I don’t want to go, I love the work, but I’ve also severely screwed my family’s finances, and they deserve better than what they’re getting from me now.
it’s one thing to not be around if we are all comfortable. But if we are all literally starving...i need to be home! I mean heck, I haven’t eaten in a week...
I’m boxing up my truck, and...I’m sad. I put a lot of work and effort into this, and I got jack #### out of it.
Oh well...that’s life right?LtlAnonymous, D.Tibbitt, 6wheeler and 3 others Thank this. -

Keep your CDL, you will most likely use it again in the future. Before you give up, go check out some craigslist companys. Sometimes small mom and pop outfits are where you wanna be.LtlAnonymous, Badmon, austinmike and 2 others Thank this.

Yep, I could get him in with me, depending on his location in Michigan, and proximity to our yards there.LtlAnonymous, rachi, Cabinover101 and 1 other person Thank this.
