I can't tell you just how much I have enjoyed this thread.
I want to hear some more of them truck driving lies! Tell me about cheating on your logs, the times when you called the Federal Marshalls to the scales, how you outsmarted the DOT inspectors at a checkpoint, all the dispatchers you've cussed out, how far you drove while taking them little white pills, all the waitresses that you've charmed and last but not least how fast your truck will go!!!

No, just reminiscing over some of the outlandish stories I've heard in the truck stops and over the CB in years past.

No way. Trolls don't reference some of the best songs ever written.

We all know there was a lot of B.S. in some of those stories. U.S. Marshalls? Always did get a chuckle out of that one. Especially with how serious some of the guy were when they said it. But there is some truth to the rest of what you said. Heck, drivers are still cheating their logs, and while the little white pills (not to mention those black beauties) are not used much anymore, they sure were back in the day. A lot of miles were run like that, even with the nationwide 55 mph limit.

And nobody wore seatbelts, and nobody sat in the left lane for long because a truck going 95 would soon be approaching. 55mph? Haha.

Seatbelts and staying out of the left lane was common, but 95 mph trucks was just as rare then as they are today. The laws of physics haven't changed. Speed takes gearing and the vast majority of those fools making high speed claims were running single over drive transmissions and 3.55 rears.

I’ll never forget the “law” against being weighed right after being charged a toll that I was once told about in younger days before I knew better.
