I've never had a level 2 that included anything to do with the brakes. Only time brakes are checked is a level 1. Atleast in my experience...Cabinover101, kylefitzy and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

In my experience they usually kneel down and eyeball them. Probably looking for cracked shoes and leaking wheel seals.
-
IDK. All the level 2 inspection I've had done are on the side of the road, maybe that's why but its basically just lights and a quick tire thump. It sure hasn't ever been the "air brake system" as was mentioned above, I can surely tell ya that.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
-
Right. If they start having you press the brake pedal, that's a level 1.kylefitzy Thanks this.

No a level 2 does not include the break system. It clearly states that in the paperwork they give u. If u getting ur breaks checked then ur getting a level 1
Cabinover101, JonJon78 and Rugerfan Thank this. -
that is only at Anthony westbound
Half the time - they are not in the booth.
Eastbound Lordsburg will roll you up to the window and you just hand them your permit.
be sure if you have pilot cars that they are current on their NM certification - bad things will happen if they are not - so I am told.
all the rest will run you either across or around the scale and then you get to walk in your permit.D.Tibbitt, cke, Rugerfan and 1 other person Thank this. -
You rebelCabinover101, D.Tibbitt and kylefitzy Thank this.

Ive had a few lvl 2s where they had me run through the leak down test

Then that is a level 1 and u should be given credit as one . Make sure them dot cops know what they are doing and fill out the correct paperwork, just another way to screw us drivers over
