What’s the question? It’s been discussed on here in a few places but yes... driver inquiries (pre-employment and annual) is now a carrier requirement.

If you are applying for a new job and have not registered, you will receive a letter from FMCSA stating a company is attempting to pull your full history inquiry and was unable to obtain your release consent. If this is the case, you will not be cleared to begin working.

If you are registered, when a company enters your cdl # for an inquiry, you’ll receive an email asking you to log in. When you log in, it will prompt you for information sharing consent.

If you are not changing jobs soon, you aren’t immediately affected however, you will experience the above issues when your current employer pulls the annual.

    To register.
If you get an error message about your cdl information not linking, just try again in a day or so as we are having issues with some state bmv data transfer.

Correction, the annuals can be limited which doesn’t require you to give consent but it’s still best to register so you get email notifications vs a letter.

LIMITED QUERY requires either written or electronic consent, A carrier can have their current drivers sign a consent form and file it for any and all future limited queries.

any limited query that returns a response needs to be followed up with a full query that needs electronic consent.

Electronic consent is only good for 30 days...

I got this from a seminar Friday.the speaker was David J Yessen, chief, compliance division, office of enforcement and compliance, US DOT.....very informative!
