Did OP ever say what account she was on or where? Sounds like she might have been on the account that I ran, mostly the part about the two women in charge showing up late with Starbucks. If it is the same account, then that statement is the only thing true about her claim. I was treated rather well at Schneider and sure as hell never had to take a 34 in a shopping center parking lot
gentleroger Thanks this. -
What if you have a family emergency and they have yet to send you home? I told them that I will turn in my truck I just need to get home I've been sitting at an OC for a day now.
-
When my dad passed I just called in and said I was relaying my load in Atlanta and flying out. Schneiders repsonse was "do you need help booking the ticket and you can use the direct bill taxi to get to the airport".
Schneider will do everything in their power to get you home in an emergency. If you have an emergency, why have you sat still for an entire day? Make a phone call and get things going.drvrtech77, Opus, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
I wound up with Pneumonia in both lungs on my very first week solo. After 4 days in the hospital in Terre Haute, IN they paid for a rental car from there to my home in NJ. Now, I'm sure that isn't typical especially for OTR drivers but it's what they did for me at least on the dedicated run I was on. I never went home for a family emergency but I doubt it would have been an issue if I had to
Lonesome Thanks this. -
lol! well I remember on youtube some guy left Schneider to work for Western Express and liked it better because the truck didn't have the sensors all over the place.

So what exactly is Schneider's beginner pay? I make about $15 an hour currently, 40 hours a week at my current job (non-driving) with free health and dental. Not sure I want to give that up to take the risk of starting trucking and the low pay that first year. Don't know what to do but I have a CDL with everything and have had that gut feeling of wanting to give it a shot.. decisions!
-
Whatd they say when you called them?
-
.40 .com- depending on where you hire on. At least 2,000 paid miles a week.
-
0.32 or 0.38 cents per mile I think.
