fleetguard has a new centrifuge system that they say is a pattented design that is supposidly better than the spinner

it looks like a simpler design that does away with the float assembly in the bottom

When I checked the link all I saw was a commercial for oil and additives..?? I do know two guys that are running the gulf coast system and are having good results with a synthetic blend oil and no fuel treatment.

Your lube oil also gets slowly contaminated by diesel fuel that gets past the rings during cold starts or from a leaking injector, causing you to destroy your bearings because of the reduced lubricity and load carrying capacity of the contaminated oil. You can't spin diesel fuel out with a centrifuge.

Is the gulf coast system the one that uses paper towels or toilet paper instead of a high price filter? Seems to me that that with extended oil change intervals would quickly offset the cost. They claim on their website that they ran 1,000,000 on a 90 Pete with one unnecessary oil drain, but they don't go into detail about the unnecessary part. They say they did it with regular oil not a synthetic. Now I know a sales pitch when it is that transparent. Has any one else came close to duplicating that result.

Whats in them "high price filters"? Yes GCF uses paper towels, no big secret. Toilet paper will come apart, I dont think anyone has use that in some time now. Wonder whats in them spin on filters? answer..paper. Whats in a fuel filter? answer paper. Whats in a air filter? answer paper.
I have 340000 miles with out an oil change using a GCF.

Agreed 100% analysis will tell you when this is happening and to what extent... They will notify you if additives are required or oil change necessary

No personal experience with the GC but I like and agree that paper is extremely efficient filtration system... I would however think that a higher quality Paper towel would be best to use... many of the cheaper ones use recycled paper which doesn't have good absorbtion of contaminates due to the fibers being tighter together.

I wasn't saying that the high priced filter was better than paper towels. I was saying that a $2 paper towel roll is a lot less expensive than 10 gallons of oil at $15 a gallon and a $20-$50 oil filter. At $170 to $200 to do your own oil change vs $2 and what about $50 for an oil analysis you save minimum of $118 per oil change. That means it takes 6 oil changes to pay for itself right?

blackrock charges $22.50for analysis and sends the kits to you for free...

07-379 pete: Do you let the canister drain and reuse the oil from the can to save on make-up oil? I just find it hard to believe that the towels/filter hold and keeps 2 gals....
