What if a lumper gouges the walls of your trailer?

Unless you’re on the dock or have a camera in the trailer there’s not much you can do. They are going to claim the shipper did it during loading.

 

Depends on how bad the damage is and relationship with the facility honestly.

We had one place that swore it wasn't them until the driver handed the supervisor part of the forklift that broke off during impact.

Other times were forklifts punching thru the skin.

Most scuffs or gouges you will never see a dime in reimbursements.

 

there is a paper mill in cayuga, in. every time I go there somebody damages my trailer. ######## are working in that facility. be careful when you go there. Once they paid me $1850 .

 

Depends on the damage. If its a long & narrow gouge, caulk it and a strip of white gorilla tape. Spray foam only helps in deep punctures. They do make wall patch kits, but I've never had long term success with them.

 

O/o usually install another sheet of plywood in the front

 

I have 1 driver that will put rubber blocks in the nose at certain shippers. More than once a speeding forklift guy nailed them wide open, but only once.

 

Actually some aged and bitter angry coot with a mission to make everyone around him unhappy...
