Quite reasonable really if you consider the alternative.

    2050 Tq motor?

I think the high TQ motors have a clutch issue with the friction plate springs being too weak... Giving gear rattle.

Would this describe what you're hearing?

    Oxbow Thanks this.

Yup 565/2050 and that makes perfect sense it seems like the clutch is doing something wierd. Had it adjusted around 15,000 miles because it had moved from about middle throw engagement to the top and its up at the top again now at 45,000 miles. Ive always thought it was a clutch issue but it dosent seem to slip but it does seem to change RPM spots so I had kinda chalked it up to a programing issue with the injection events.

    Oxbow and KB3MMX Thank this.

Good evening. If you don't mind me asking, but where are you located? Preparing to do inframe on my ISX15 and I am freaking out with the cracked blocks I keep hearing.

I'm in Pennsylvania, but I travel, nationwide. All of the cracked blocks, that I encountered, were 2012.

Funny you say that. Got a close friend that is going through that with his 2012 KW. Any experiences with a 2015 model?

2015 has factory brass shims. I have found 10 with smashed factory brass shims. (2013 and up) ONLY use stainless steel shims at .014" liner protrusion!

I really appreciate you sharing this information. I live in Houston, TX and the machinist I have used in the past is very cautious and unwilling to cut a cracked block. Claims that because it is weak point, it might come back and he will not warranty. Can't really blame him, but I would like some good news for a change with these Cummins. Gonna toss this info to him and see if I can convince him. If not, I will definitely reach out. Thank you for your response.
