Their "Critical Events" are a joke. Just a cheap way to chip away at their drivers. A "Critical Event" could be anything from me pulling out of an Oklahoma rest area on warped pavement, 3 mph too quickly with literally not a soul in sight, all the way to burning out your brakes and squealing down Donner Pass with a billowing cloud of smoke behind you, while you're screaming your lungs out on the way down.
Edit:
Just wanna say a TON of them are probably from the exit ramps. About 2 or 3 of mine were from those at least. Good idea to have them for that, but again, from my experience, they never actually affected the loads I had... Like the increase or decrease in speed was so little you'd laugh at the ones I got nailed for.
A few of those? Oh I certainly deserved 'em! Hauled butt out of that TA around Chicago with a Charley's in it,and the super-huge parking lot, over to my 90 once and yeah, I deserved it for driving that fast. No clue what I was thinking. Many of them were very, very minor speed changes on ramps though, never doing A THING to my loads.
With the fuel savings game they play, I think my dispatcher was cycling me out of his fleet because I'd go Granny Mode and drive 55 - 58 MPH pretty often to save fuel. Pretty sure those guys get paid by the miles their trucks run, and I was doing 8 hour days, trying to run like it was an ultra marathon at a steady and consistent pace.
They taught me to do it!Last edited: Feb 8, 2020

What I'd like to know with Prime is the rate of successful leases completed to drop-outs like myself, who were run face-first into the ground after some time (1.5 years here), and then dragged out of Prime with an IOU that wipes out our e-funds.Voodoo Pyg and Lonesome Thank this.

Depends upon how corrupt the court is. From my understanding, a non compete contract is unenforceable, yet Swift lost in court to Crusty having to pay out fourteen million dollars or some figure close to that.
If you read online information about non compete contracts, it'll tell you that such contracts are illegal and unenforceable.
Problem is that the sleazy companies that have non compete contracts back each other up like a septic tank.
Couple that with judges who today are schizophrenic in their rulings, are subject to monetary influence, or are left powerless by a law that is weak and favors corrupt interests.
Welcome to America. Land of the free and home of the brave.Voodoo Pyg Thanks this. -
