Well the cameras being set to extremely sensitive just gives them the excuse to spy on you. Roehl thrives on new drivers so they just dont know any better.

well I will play the other side of the sword, that is there right. It’s there equipment. Now again I would not be afraid of them unless you signed a paper that states they can deduct from your pay over the camera. There are plenty of companies that don’t use them so it’s not like there are not choices, even if your new.
Now another little bit of information on the cameras. Even if it goes off the company may never see the footage. See the company that offers the subscription reviews the footage and determines whether or not to send it to the safety department or not. Also they cannot just turn the camera on to check on you all. From a person that has been and used the cameras from both sides of the operations, they feel more intrusive than they actually are. I personally do not have one or will buy one. I don’t even want a dash cam. But it’s my truck and my rules. If Roehl is you only choice far as moving up. You might have to suck it up and just go with it sadly but it doesn’t have to be forever. -
Yes you are right..it is their truck..they are not an experienced driver company for the most part so they know new drivers dont have many other choices to get company schooling and experience all in one place ( last I saw their school was $8000 + with a contract) They do fill that niche for people who have bad credit and cant afford to take weeks off from work unpaid to attend school.I went to a community college for $2500.
I see the point in having outward cameras but not inward. If folks agree to that so be it.
In Canada inward facing are not allowed because its considered an invasion of privacy. I have said it as well as others in here before..an inward camera has no place in your" living" space. -
I agree with not being in your living space.... But the driver seat....Is not your living space. It is a work space.
Cameras are not in sleeper, and when off duty, are not in the cab as driver can wrap curtain...or if not
wanting to wrap the curtain, can simply block camera during off duty private time.bryan21384 Thanks this. -
If yall agree to go with that go for it. Most truckers do this job because they dont want to be micromanaged like they are in an office job. Yes nothing like your company hearing everything you say especially when you have your wife with you in the truck. Roehl also has you sign a form agreeing to certain rules including..no joke, no masterbation allowed in their trucks WTF? All I know is if I started there I would get my experience and move on. I have talked to a few owner ops there who were happy and they say Roehl eases up on you after you prove yourself.

Lol you think most drivers employment decision came down between an office job and truck driving? What office job allows their employees to go the bathroom in bags or bottles and throw them out in the hallway?
