A quick visit to the Olympus Partners website reveals that they were an investor in TA for awhile. My guess is that TA did not want to offer a great rate on diesel so they are simply not going to do business with TA/Petro...

    That's my truck driver guess.....

I didn't ask about raises. Anything about a raise or not is only speculation at this point. I'm confident the bean counters will be looking at keeping us competitive.

That's also another thing to consider if we actually get a choice between milage and percentage. Pay goes up and down on percentage as rates in the industry fluctuate. They remain consistent on milage regardless.

A lot of miles ahead before any of us need to consider these things too much. For now, I'll keep enjoying the ride.

I hate to hear that, I like TA/Petros. Never been a fan of pilot/flying j accept for their parking and their deli’s. Loves is okay, you just have to wait on their showers depending on when you stop

Sorry about that, I said raises, which a bump in pay is, but what I was meaning was I assumed they switched the tank wash and mechanic to Heniff pay scale.

.y husband works mostly local and regional, Superior pays 125 miles radius @$21.50, and Heniff pays 300 mile radius @ starting pay $23.00 and time and a half over 40. With a bump in hourly pay based on years of service. I think I read that after 7 years hourly pay is $26.00

Anyway, that's what I meant in my statement, I was kinda hoping we'd be moving to Heniffs pay scale sooner than later.... just that for local drivers would be a nice bump in pay. But since None of the drivers got a raise last year, a raise would also be welcome

I can count the number of times i've fueld at a TA/PETRO on one hand so thats not a big deal. When I get fuel on the road its 99% at a pfj because the fuel discount is the same as petro/ta but with the added bonus of the pfj points. Superior drivers get 5x points for fueling which added up quick when running hard.

Now though its going to be heniff and their promotion is kinda eh... So the PFJ promotion with Heniff is 1 gallon of fuel purchase = shower power, no more extra fuel points. So instead of having to fuel 1000 gallons a month to get the shower power you only have to get 1 gallon. Would be great except you are forcing us to fuel only there anyways. So the likelyhood of the average driver getting shower power just from fueling up regularly is pretty high(1000 gallons a month is 6-8k miles, easy). But now without the extra $40 in points...that sucks!

I just hope the card isn't super restrictive, right now anywhere a comdata is accepted I can get fuel. We dont even have a PFJ or Loves within 180 miles of the terminal.

the one thing that should put most drivers at ease, I'd think is 'Superior wasn't purchased as a fixer upper.'. I'll say a few things about q/c and peoplenet. When I first started driving, the company I started with had q/c, and their units(MCP 200) worked flawlessly! Then I went to company that used Peoplenet and that system did nothing more than CRASH ALOT! haha Now, when I came here, I was very used to q/c and had no issues with it. However, mine does get 'hung up' from time to time. And personally, I've heard good and bad about percentage pay. I've never been on it, so I have no idea how well that would work for me. Right now, my main concern is actually doing something besides all these 300/400 mile runs! This is just getting me nowhere! Sure in the past, I'll get a 300/400 mile run, and then I'll get, at least, a 700 miler to back up a short run, but it's been nothing but 300/400 one after the other. And been hardly ANY layover pay in it! I'm giving 6 months for things to pick up and I can actually do some work besides this petty crap. Plus, it being an election year, most places aren't hiring until mid year OR until the first of next year.

The shower power deal we just got handed was either thought up by a person who has never been over the road or who is long removed from this type of job. You get a shower with every 50 gallons anyway, so yeah, that's kind of a kick in the nuts from the new regime. I guess they needed that 4 cents a gallon more than we did.

Edit: I may have spoken too soon. I got the 5 cents per when I topped of last night.

I do feel fortunate do not get me wrong, but at the same time lately I've been working 10 times harder for like 350 to 400 per week less. Also lately we never know what the next load is till the office is just about to close making any kinda preplanning impossible. I'm also getting very irked by hearing dispatch complain about how late I'm on a run when they know if you give me something that delivers the day before at 2100 a start time of 0200 isn't realistic. I'm extremely close to just finding another job even if I don't make more or even less money if they communicate I would be happy. And to be honest I'm just getting burnt I've expressed my concerns only to have more work thrown on me... at some point you just have to move on.
