I forgot to put my fuel cap on after fueling........

    Yes, and if you get caught, you’re one very unlucky guy. I’d make sure there are no open weigh stations to the dealer. It’s not a big deal in my opinion as long as it’s not leaking.

    Its just too bad they're too dumb to figure out the simple answer themselves.

    And I've never left a fuel cap off multiple times.

    I don't know, not to sound ####y, but of the literally thousands of times I got fuel in a truck, I never forgot the fuel cap. Before hanging the hose up on the pump, I'd put the cap on, then hang the hose. I never had a problem,,except of course, once, I was really tired and put about 5 gallons of gas in one tank. To be honest, I never knew the difference.
