    No need to pull the hood, take the grill out. My mechanic did the whole front covers, bull gear, with hood on.I told him to let me pull the grill. He didn’t want to, We had trouble tightening radiator bolts, finally I took grill out, 5 minutes. You can stand up in there. Looking straight at everything. I’ve done that a few times, to change cac, or clean it along with radiator. Hood opens easy, once you get the spring tension right.

    You mean the area where they were too cheap to redesign, and add leg room in Cab. That’s what I call it. Lol. I’d like to bump it out, myself. Would be quite a job. But I think possible.

    I prefer the easy access to top of transmission. Leg room is a little tight, but enough.

    I drool over pictures like that. Easier to access the back of your motor than the front on my Century. I changed the water pump on my Detroit, took me one and a half days. My friend has a W900L, took him 2 hours. His has a detroit too.

    I get it man. And when you are the one turning the wrenches you could give a rats ### that the big square hood cost you 1/2 mpg.
    Eventually I'll need to do a clutch, not that there is anything wrong with my clutch but it is a wear item so only a matter of time. Gonna be real nice to lower a sling behind the engine to lift it instead of crying for mommy and pray my nuts don't suck up into my stomach trying to bench press it.

    Didn't see this before. Ya I know you dont "need" to pull the hood. However my fenders sag and I'm tired of my truck looking like its frowning. So a good time to get a new hood on her.

    Ya so much of that aero truck vs hood truck depends on if you have to work on it. My next truck will definately have a hood.

    This one is for sale, and cheap. When I got it I saw a ton of potential, but no matter how pretty she shines up, the end of the day it's still just a freightliner and I just can't find the motivationa to sink the time into prettying up a freightliner.
