A sparkling, white semi-trailer truck made an important delivery at the Harrison Wal-Mart early in the afternoon on March 9. It was important enough that it required an escort of county and state police and a reception at the front entrance.

When 10-year-old Drew Morlen climbed down from the cab, it was the completion of one journey that covered only a few miles, but just the beginning of another that would cover a million smiles.

According to Tom Lear, an Oklahoma driver, the program is their way of making life just a little happier for kids who suffer from chronic diseases. Wal-Mart Heart started in 1998, Lear said, with one driver and one sick child and has grown until there are about 100 drivers nationwide participating. The drivers make all the arrangements and pay all expenses from their own pockets, but Wal-Mart stands solidly behind them in their efforts.

That's a great and kind hearted thing those truckers did. However, it kinda pisses me off that all Wally World did was lend their name.
