I am wanting a different radio. Are the 10 meters able to get 11 meter channels or do I have to take it some where to get that added. I have been looking at Stryker' s in particular. But for what I do I need several normal cb channels for shippers. I have never had anything other than a cobra radio so my knowledge of the the other types is limited.

I have a Stryker 655 and it's been modified for 11 meters. You have to take the radio to a CB Shop to have it modified all depends on the pricing at the shop where you buy the radio at or take it to another shop. Only difference between the 655 and 955 the 655 don't have sideband and the 955 has sideband. Sideband is a great when the skip/conditions rolls in to the area you're currently in.

10m radios need a minor change on the circuit board. Usually removing a resistor. The rci ranger 2950 and 2970n2 have a small plugin circuit board that goes into a socket on the back of the display. Turn the radio back on and cb channels will work, along with the 10m and 12m bands.

Yes, Correct it won't work on 11 meters out of the box unless it's been modified by the shop before they sale it.

No. Maybe someone can chime in. I think those Stryker radios need a resistor removed.

If the shop re-aligns it for 11m, you may lose a bit of performance on 10m. But if you are not a ham, then no worries.

There aren't many shops that I would recommend as most are hacks. Especially for the Strykers. They are complicated with very small surface mounted parts. The hack shops usually wind up damaging the circuit board traces while doing junk mods.
