11 Cascadia with a DD15. I've been in this truck since January, and she's given me nothing but trouble. Idk why, with only 240k on the clock but anyway...

Issue 1 is that she keeps blowing fuses and I dont know why, usually its the power sockets and CB fuses that burn out but not always. I've replaced them all with higher amp fuses and still they blow.

Issue 2 is fault codes...I'm showing CHS 71 and CAB 33 codes...I've searched all over the web, talked to shops, even called 3 different freightliner dealerships and nobody could tell me what those codes mean. Does anyone know?

Issue 3 is the idle shut down timer that pisses me off every night. I can't run my bunk heater for more then 3 or 4 hrs before the truck turns it off and I have to get up and fire it up to recharge the batteries...waking up 3 times a night to run the engine is not conducive to a restful night's sleep. I've tried every trick I could find from web searches to try and get this thing to idle and it wont. So my only choice is some kind of hard bypass of the shutdown circuit...if someone can provide me with a wiring diagram for this thing I should be able to disable the shutdown circuit, so if anyone has that or any other tricks with the trucks electrical system that will help with this I'd really appreciate it!

Trace down and check all of your ground connections. Pull them off, clean the mating metal surfaces, and put them back on.

As Pablo said, SAMS cab and/or chassis modules can do some really stupid crap. I am assuming you have "Parksmart"? We have seen some problems mostly has to do with the aux. batteries either not holding a charge (need replacement) OR we have had some corrosion on the relay that has to do with charging those batt.

    Hope that helps,

    Stan

cascadias are bad for windshield leaks pull a few panels off and check for corrosion my problem got so bad my horn started on its own and wipers were full blast even after i shut truck off . ended up changing 2 computers and a bunch of harnesses ps engine harness is only good for about 3 years then it throws phantom codes just did mine a month ago in drummmondville pq best freightliner around imo. winnipeg is useless 8 times and 4 tows 15 days in shop there never again will i go there i spent 17000 for what ended up costing under 1500 to fix proper in drummondville. ottawa and north bay both took a crack at it as well with no luck
