Looking to buy one of these for a drive I have that really wants one. He is hauling dump trailer and a great employee so I want to get him what he would like but I am not sure about freightliners and these new 122SDs. Truck would be ordered with a 48in sleeper, 14700 fronts 46000 rears with the DD15 rated at the 505HP with a Eaton 18 speed. Looked at the DD16 for him but the cost for the 95hp and 300Tq is a good amount and also the added fuel he will burn I just cant see spending that much more but what do you all think? What do you think about the truck and engine DD15 or DD16?

Same page of looking to buy these trucks for agriculture use in pennsylvania (hopper, step deck, and forage trailer). The dd16 cost more than what dd15 cost. If you want extreme 600 hp, go for dd16.

They look to be a nice truck but I would like to hear how they are holding up and what if any problems they might be having with them.

The company who wreckers for our shop has one and loves it. No issues yet. The dd15 will give you plenty of power if you spec the axle ratios right. I wouldnt get a dd16 due to cost and parts availability. I work at a busy freightliner dealership and havnt seen many 122SD's yet, which is a good thing
NFDDJS Thanks this. -
What’s the difference between the old truck they stopped making few years back. To the new coronado, I simply see a head light difference
