    Ok guys...

I'm looking at a truck.. it's W900.. it's got a 13sp in it.. and the guy says that the sync rolls are shot so it makes a grinding noise when shifting. I haven't seen the truck in person yet or driven it, but, would that be something that should be a deal breaker on buying it? (aka $3000 or more to repair)

For the price of the truck, if it's under a $3000 repair, i think it would be worth it, however if it would most likely be more than that........

Don't forget the clutch. If your going to R/R the trans might as well do the clutch and rear main seal. Clutch depends on what size and torque rating but add another $800.00 to your $3000.00. Your usually better off getting an exchange trans, but get NEW clutch. Out the door your looking anywhere from $4000.00 to $5000.00. And btw, I recommend you look for a Transmission/Differential shop, not a dealer or a general shop.

You can swap them out with a re-man w/ warranty for a little more than 3 grand if you shop around, consider possible new clutch if you have it apart.
