I'm about to officially decide where to get my CDL and then who to work for coming up really soon. My current plan is to work with Schneider as they pay for you to get your CDL but of course, lock you into a 9-month contract. Breaking the contract is 2k but my roommate went to Roadmasters and they charged him almost 8k! The 2k doesn't seem so bad compared to that. Schneider doesn't pay the best (or does any mega carrier) but I just want something that is simple and will get me my first year of experience. If anyone has any other recommendations that I shouldn't overlook please let me know! Thanks so much.

9 months is not that long. And the Great Pumpkin has several types of trucking, in case you want to switch. Its a big company and has big company problems. But prolly a good starting point

Just remember that any rookie mistakes will be held against you…so much so that you may have to be stuck there for years.
Screw up enough and you’ll be booted from the truck possibly 1,000’s of miles from home..
