Hey everyone just a quick question does anybody else know if this truck would have two speed sensors on the back of the transmission? my odometer was bouncing around all over the place so I went ahead and replace it but when I got under there, I saw an identical looks like a speed sensor directly on top with the same clip as what I was replacing but there was nothing to it and I didn’t see another harness plug-in laying around anywhere.

I think the data for the speedometer comes from the ECM, not the sensor directly.
Sbroshears Thanks this. -
Sensor, ecm, speedo?
-
my 15 uses only one speed sensor but has holes for 2. I had to replace the sensor and just used the other hole and left the original in place. was a son of a gun trying to get it out so I just left it. fyi
Sbroshears Thanks this. -
OK I replaced the speed sensor and it’s doing the same thing… Any ideas?
-
does it just jump around while driving or while sitting still also?
Could be a number of things, wiring, loose connection on back of speedo, etc... -
Just when I’m moving. So it looks like my speedometer itself has gone bad. Honestly never saw that happen before. A tech looked at it and said it shouldn’t ever read below zero when it’s turned off. If it does it’s bad. I’m not sure how that affects the cruise… I thought the cruise ran off the sensors.

Ok… not the speedometer. Still no engine break. No cruise. And when I’m on the peddle trying to remain a constant 70 I’m getting almost like a pulse surge. I’m at a loss what to do. Any ideas? Is it the ecm going out??
