Hey guys / gals,
Just wanted to inform those that might not be in the know - I sure wasn't, but now I am.
My A/C compressor took a vacation right before heading down to Miami and also noted that my AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE READING was missing on my dash - it only provided three ---.
I was getting worked up in a frenzy because I just replaced the A/C compressor about six months ago. However, remembered that I read a post somewhere that eluded to - if the air temperature sensor goes bad it cuts your compressor off - IT IS TRUE.
Found one of the two cables chafing on the sensor and I moved them around a bit and the temperature gives me a reading, not accurate and my A/C compressor does blow cold air.
I did turn everything off, because I also read there is a reason it cuts the A/C compressor off - don't remember exactly why, but not willing to have any components of the A/C system going bad for 20 minutes of cold air. Once I replace that sensor - easy plug and play.
Just wanted to pass that on to someone that is not that mechanically inclined (like me).
Good day.
