It's law they have to put the AC label under the hood which has the capacity on it. It should be around 1.8 lbs or so.

DIY? I would buy 3 cans and one 6oz can of oil. If you broke the system open you have to pull a vacuum for about 30 minutes. The top auto parts stores like Advance will lend you a vacuum pump with a deposit or CC.
