Oky ya'll know we have a 2011 International. It has been in an outta the shop frequently.
We were just starting to get miles, nice miles, an had to put it in shop in Martinsburg WV. The voltage was swinging from 12v to 14v constantly, air conditioner no cold air, an some really loud squeals from under the hood.
Naturally they couldnt reproduce the squeals, oky. They claim they fixed the electrical an air conditioner, last week! We get it outta the shop an air horn doesnt work.
Today we are in the shop again, International dealer this time, for voltage an air conditioner. Hubby was trying to sleep an I was driving and he came outta the sleeper madder than a hornet, soaked with sweat. What the heck!
We asked for a different truck,,,u all know the answer.
We also got dispatched on a load in LA that stated shipper will not rework load. We scale it an way over on the drives. Macro open message cause, naturally it is the weekend, spent most of the night back an forth after waiting over an hour on the original msg for a reply which we were told they would check on it. Then I sent in a macro about every 15min to keep bugging em. Was told to take back to shipper, duh cant they read the macros already sent, shipper wont rework. Finally had to Tcall the load. What a waste! Spent most of the rest of the weekend running bobtail to get an empty, then short run to TN, drop the load, supposed to repower a load to Tx for another driver. Pulled into where he was at Cummins to get his truck fixed,O/O an cant go cause now our truck needs fixed for a problem they already said they fixed.
We are so frustrated, what kinda people do this to their drivers???

Tell International to check whether the thermistor recall was done on your truck. If it wasn't, it might have been the cause of your A/C problem.
My whole last month kinda bit. But then I've been fighting off an extended case of the &#%$-Its.Wyldfyur and The Challenger Thank this. -
wow, a cummins in a 2011 model, i'm surprised its not a maxxforce motor, outside of that little hiccup, hows the prostar running, do you like it, and, is it the prostar PLUS, or the older model, i now if i had to chose between the prostar or frieghtliner, it would be the prostar hands down, hang in there

Junkstars! Si' habla junko! Be glad you aren't paying to fix it.
Wyldfyur Thanks this. -
Ok, what kind of people do this? Let's remove the truck repair equation, since from what I have read here most of the work has been done at dealers, and Swift has no control over the mechanics they hire.
As for the empty trailer hunt, the shipper not transloading or reworking, what would you suggest we do in the future?Wyldfyur Thanks this. -
Most of the work that does not fix the problem has been done at the terminal shop, when they send us to the dealer usually it gets fixed.
As for the second comment...dont leave us hanging. So many times we are told "I'll get back to you" we wait, n wait, n wait etc. If you cant respond til morning then say that...then we can at least get some sleep instead of babysitting the qualcom.
Make sure whoever answers the problem reads the whole macro, page up key works great..so often we get the same questions responding to our questions or directed to do what we were already directed to do a couple hours before by a different person (mostly because whoever responds answers in an open message instead of putting their specific code to respond to, and does not take the time to read what has already transpired)
If you are going home let us know who is taking over for you, to continue a smooth resolution to the problem.Last edited: May 5, 2011

Shrek you the bald headed guy with the desk by the column?
Wyldfyur Thanks this. -
I know this sounds crazy but when we were having trouble with Thelma (also a prostar) it finally turned out to be that someone had put one of the batteries in backwards. Now I know that's sounds stupid but once it was found.....all the problems ended. We had ac problems, the horn stopped working, the squeal under the hood sounded like I'd run over some old lady and she was squealing for help, dead batteries constantly(if we turned the engine off for 3 hours it would have to be jumped), and we had that volt meter dancing between 1 & 14 constantly.
It's just a thought.
As for the rest of it........it makes me ashamed. I recommended Swift to you. *sighs*Wyldfyur Thanks this. -
Its oky Nana...luv u still. Course I tell them here what you said an got laughed outta the shop...Im just a woman I guess, sigh.
Now they are putting a new qualcom into it...duh we are having serious electrical problems an u r adding another electric device??? Sorry but I really think that is a baaad idea...but Im just a woman -
Sheesh. They could have at least looked. I'm sure you've spoken to your DM about a different truck. man this is just crazy.
