I'm actually curious of the quality of the factory wiring in a new 2016 prostar+ just got it today ND was curious of my stryker 655hpc and factory wiring. It is a company truck so I can't do anything way out there install wise so I was wondering the quality from people who may already be running one. I'm quite protective of my Stryker if I can't get swr set right I normally switch back to my old galaxy 959. Being as I had never ran a prostar before I'd try the stryker

Most of the brand new ones are pretty decent.
The company I work for uses all prostars, and we just got 2 new trucks in and their radios sound better now using the factory wiring then they did in older trucks with their own wiring set upLast edited: Feb 20, 2016

I always had to run a hot wire down to the fuse panel on a Prostar, not enough power for my Connex 3300

How did you have your Connex mounted in the prostar? I'm just curious because I just got a general lee and am anxious for Monday morning to see how it fits in the "cobra 29 hole" thanks

I had a 2014 and it fit right in,
I can't imagine they changed it.
I just ran a hot wire down to the fuse panel in the passenger side dash a and a ground wire to the door hinge.
In the pic is a homemade plug and a inline fuse.

It's plug and play. Only the right antenna actually works for CB. The left one seems to be cosmetic. I couldn't even get a straight answer from the dealer as to if it's a true cophase setup. The antenna cable has two leads, but removing the left antenna changes nothing in reception. Remove the right antenna, and you lose everything.
I ended up running my own cable and antenna on the left side. When the truck goes back, they won't know the difference.
