Have a 2018 579 Peterbilt with x15 cummins. Dual stacks but only hooked up to 1 of them. Got it washed and few hours later I noticed some thick white stuff on it and I’ll post pictures in order. Then another day goes by the stack is turning white at the top and kind of rainbow looking under it. Then I go to Peterbilt to show them and when I got to Peterbilt it started to regen and by the time they came out all the white on the stack was pretty much gone. I do believe I have an exhaust leak at or near the bellow pipes. Would that cause this?

It’s normal. I’ve seen worse.
Concorde and Brandon0928 Thank this. -
Thanks. I think I would like to have it unhooked from the stack that way the stack doesn’t get so dirty looking
-
Just epa mandated cancer. Nothing to look, move on..

I have zero knowledge on this but thought I have heard if you have a weed burner exhaust that you can’t change it to stacks without messing up the way it runs
So reversing that if it’s true might have a similar effect???
Again. I have no clue but maybe ask that question to some who may knowOxbow Thanks this. -
I’m gunna look more into this. I talked to Peterbilt about it and they said 500$ and I could have it unhooked to make it a weed burner and not ruin the stack. I’m gunna talk with my local shop I use 99% of the time and see what they say. I don’t really want to do anything that will affect the way the truck runsGYPSY65 Thanks this.

I had a friend who bought a new charger
Went home. Took a saw to the exhaust to add dual pipes like we did back in the day
His car never ran right after that but there is a way too do that but it’s not just pipes and mufflers like before
I had this car with an LS3 vette engine with around 550-600hp and it was done right
Old school setup with sensors etc where they needed to be

Beautiful car!!
