I'm trying to find out if I can install a 2WS ecm on my 04 MBN. My original engine was a 550hp 2WS. It spun a rod bearing so I replaced it with a rebuilt MBN. I was told I could get my ecm 2WS parameters downloaded onto the MBN ecm but am wondering if I can just run my old ecm. I havce the old engine but would prefer to leave the mbn stock appearing if possible(the engine has warranty and I don't want to void it if possible) Thanks.
2WS ecm on MBN?

Throw it on and keep the MBN ecm with you in case you have to put it on for warranty work. It will run much better then having the factory MBN programming in it
-
The only problem is the milage on ecm will not add on to ecm. So it wont match odometer. But other than that the truck will run alot better. You will have to have perameters updated.
-
Which parameters will have to be upgraded?
-
Rear ratio maybe ppm for tach the easyest is to copy ecm config in et then apply to the other ecm then done.

You're losing me here. The 2ws ecm is the original one from my truck. I put in a 04 mbn engine. I'm trying to find out if I can put my original 2ws ecm on the mbn without issues or reflashing it.
-
Ok I misd understood u it should work but are the plugs the same it will have 40 pin or 70 pin they make adaptors to make it work. If the rear ratio is different it will have to be programed not reflashed.

You may already know this, but I think you will prolly also want/need to bypass that turbo boost sensor gizmo behind the air compressor. (On an MBN, the waste gate line leaves the turbo, goes around the back of the engine to this pita.)
-
My truck already had the 70 pin in so it should be good. The old engine ran about 34 lbs of boost without the PP box on it. I'll try it this week and see what happens. I could plug the boost hose and see if there is a noticeable difference.

dont get rid of that 2ws engine. the mbn probably won't hold up compared to what the 2ws can do new crank and rod and away you go.
