Been reading the Forum for a while and really have enjoyed the advice, views, etc. I am 59 and changing careers to trucking from health care management. Just finished truck driving school at a small school in Alabama, and set to start orientation at Swift next Tuesday. Concerned about driving test because school offered limited driving time. From reading the Forum, sounds like the 1st year is critical, make it through and your chance for making it are fairly good. Of course, screw up and it's over, from what I understand. I think I would like to eventually become an O/O, but again, taking the advice of many on the Forum, plan to wait a year and see. Wish me luck, I'll need it. Hope to see you on the road.
