I recently bought a used 5ek with unknown history. We put it in the truck runs good but we can't keep it cool. So I hooked up cat et and i saw fls fts was 127/0. So I changed it to 79/-19 and I noticed that the tattle tale feature showed these settings were changed 66 times !! It runs a little cooler but I took a look at the injector codes. This is what is listed cyl. 1100, cyl2 6930 , cyl3 6822 , cyl4 1781 , cyl5 1035, cyl6 1667 . Does it seem that those codes are in cal 2 and 3 ? Also what else can been changed with fuel settings ? It will haze black smoke when staying in the throttle under full load after that first initial puff of black smoke. Any help is appreciated I don't know very much about these older e models Also truck makes 40 psi of boost and holds

probably just the trim numbers that are assigned to those injectors when calibrated. the only way to tell is to take valve covers off and read the trim numbers on each injector to see if they match what is prgramed in the ecm.
-
The. There has to be something else in the ecm set that's making it haze black smoke
-
could be the programing. could be the turbo if it isn't original. could be larger injectors. not knowing the history of what has been done is a crap shoot.
-
What else should I look for in the programming
-
that I cannot tell you, that is out of my knowledge range. with out being there and looking at it.
-
I would check the injectors part numbers to se if they are 57's or 58's or 59's some 5ek's ran 58 injectors. and see if the turbo is stock or not. before messin with the ecm.
-
Could also just be a boost leak??
Pressure up the system .wore out Thanks this. -
very well could be that. but holding 40 lbs of boost that's pretty good. never hurts to check the easy stuff first.
