I have a cab and chassis and my trailer I'm getting has a king pin. Since I'm gonna need a 5th wheel my question is with a cab and chassis so I need some sort of plate for the 5th wheel to sit on or are the rails that it mounts to gonna be sufficient enough to support the vertical weight.
5th wheel advice. Please help!!

Need more info. A small 5th. like for an r/v? or a 5th. for a big-rig?
-
It's a 21k 5th wheel pullin a 4 car wedge
-
I'm pullin it with a dually
-
Ok,,,it's an r/v type (size) 5th. wheel designed to be mounted in a p/u bed?
If so it would depend on the x-bars and how far the legs are apart. If they are wide, almost as wide as the truck frame, then it's all good. If they are narrow and connect toward the middle of the span, I'd want something under them. With no bed to bolt to, have you figured out how you are gonna mount it to the frame? I've done quite a bit of this so will be glad to help. -
Not sure if the exact width yet. (It's on order). What are the x bars??

I still need you to answer the question!
Is it an R/V type 5th. wheel (small) or one for a BIG-RIG?
If it's one for an R/V,,,then how far apart the legs are depends on the Mfg.
Tell me what you ordered and provide a link so I know what you have. -
It's a pro series 20k. Www.redneck-trailer.com
-
Can't find it on their site. Can you provide a photo?
From what I see it's a small 5th but s ome are very well made & wouldn't need anything under them. I need to see a photo before I will advise. -
Let me try and get a picture for you.
