I have a cab and chassis and my trailer I'm getting has a king pin. Since I'm gonna need a 5th wheel my question is with a cab and chassis so I need some sort of plate for the 5th wheel to sit on or are the rails that it mounts to gonna be sufficient enough to support the vertical weight.

Ok,,,it's an r/v type (size) 5th. wheel designed to be mounted in a p/u bed?

If so it would depend on the x-bars and how far the legs are apart. If they are wide, almost as wide as the truck frame, then it's all good. If they are narrow and connect toward the middle of the span, I'd want something under them. With no bed to bolt to, have you figured out how you are gonna mount it to the frame? I've done quite a bit of this so will be glad to help.

I still need you to answer the question!
Is it an R/V type 5th. wheel (small) or one for a BIG-RIG?
If it's one for an R/V,,,then how far apart the legs are depends on the Mfg.
Tell me what you ordered and provide a link so I know what you have.

Can't find it on their site. Can you provide a photo?
From what I see it's a small 5th but s ome are very well made & wouldn't need anything under them. I need to see a photo before I will advise.
