Per say it does. Where did you get the idea only Intermodal needs to INSPECT the equipment ,
-
And yet again show us the regulation that requires this.
By having reading comprehension skills. He's posted the exact wording of the regulations and the only place dealing with inspections that has the word driver in it is in relation to intermodel equipment. Are you even reading anything posted on this thread? -
Obviously not. All he can say is "Inspections are required, otherwise companies wouldn't enforce it."
LIttle does he realize all he's doing is solidifying our argument that COMPANY POLICY dictates pretrip inspections, not DOT POLICY.
I typed out a long, well thought out post with tons of evidence backing up my position and he just overlooks it. Why? Because he doesn't want to admit he's been duped by his company. It's ok, really, lot's of drivers have been.Last edited: Sep 7, 2021
Bean Jr., ZVar, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this. -
What does that have to do with a pretrip inspection? You're responsible for your own vehicle, whether or not you do a pre trip. Dude is not required to do inspections on his vehicle while enroute so WTF does this have to do with the price of tea in China? And the DOT guy can WANT anything he wants to want, that doesn't mean a DA will press charges.
So had he done a pre-trip and ran over the dude, he would be off the hook? What if the dude crawled under the truck AFTER the pre-trip, what then? Is he still negligent? At what point is it the responsibility of the dude on the ground to NOT lay under an 18 wheeler?Last edited: Sep 7, 2021

The DOT said if he had walked around the truck he would have seen the man lying there. It has happened again. A person crawled under the truck and was killed
