I suppose a lot has to do with what sort of relationship your carrier has or had with this shipper. If they move a lot of freight for them, and this was a one-off event, then they may have a problem. But if your experience is reported regularly by other drivers and they're not attached to this shipper in any real way, and/or it's a broker load with no relationship with the shipper, then you should be good.

You know, I'm not happy with what I had to do but I am not ashamed either.

It is definitely a broker load because I wouldn't dream of doing this to one of our regular customers because we don't deal with crappy customers.

If more Drivers would grow even a bit of back bone and do this, then it it would happen less often.

I love my company and I have been here for close to 5 years. I feel they are one of the best companies in this business. I guess I'll see where I stand with them tomorrow.

No I wasn't locked to the dock yet. I still had the green light.

Happened to me at that food lion in Lakeland Fla. Had 4 pallets of cooking oil. Got there on a Wednesday. Friday afternoon, they tell me I will have to wait until Monday. Called the travel agent and she didn’t have a spine and no detention. Early 90s...I made some calls and lined up a job at a flatbed company for Monday. Drove straight home and cleaned the truck out. Never hauled a reefer ever again.

If you have experience and a clean record, you DONT have to take #### from no one. Yeah, you hear all of these scary stories from the fear mongers about DAC and 2 week notices, but it never stopped me.
