I'm in a 07 volvo 670, and my truck just developed a pretty major vibration in the last two days...
i have brand new , less than 10k mile steer's, but i did hit a piece of roadway debris that on my left , that got cauht on my 1st fuel tank step, bending it pretty bad...
i've checked all my u-bolt connections on steers and drives... all look good.
And i did just come thru snow on i-80, chains on and off...

    any ideas?

You wouldn't have hit whatever it was hard enough to throw the alignment out would you? Could check that or maybe even damaged the tire if it was something large enough. Hope you get it figured out

what kind of vibration? does it shake the wheel in your hands or do you feel it in your butt? is it at some speeds and not others? does it come when accelerating, decelerating, holding steady throttle or does it not matter?

does'nt transmit thru the steering wheel, which is weird...
    a whole cab vibration though...

it's intermittent...either pulling or coasting... on the hills under 50mph, no vibration,,,
right hand turns at governed65, same vibration
left hand turns at 65mph, sightly less vibration

messin with speeds now to learn more... droppin to 55 for a few miles....

i just figured that if it did'nt damage the tire, then it could'nt(?) have messed up the alignement....
the thing bounced , i believe, and then it hit the step---put a nice dent in the aluminum

to med man... 55 and vibration is virtually nil..

was that a violent event? could you still drive it after the incident? if so, did you experience shaking?

3 hours our from SLC, our terminal is there... i've got a great load to IL, so i'm bummed to maybe have to give it up.

    thanks for the replies...

Well here is a bit of info for general guidelines.

U-joints will usually grind when you let off the throttle. Same with carrier bearings plus they tend to queek or rattle a bit at VERY low (creping) speeds

tires that are out of ballance will generally shake at one speed for a few mph spread then stop then shake again at another certain speed for a few mph

Sounds to me like a drive tire out of ballance. If it is getting worse as you go then you may have a tire coming apart. You could have hit that object with your drives after it hit your tank causing it to loose a piece of rubber and it may be getting worse.
My truck right now has a rear wheel out of round and it wil jump the rear of the truck at high speeds but the steering wheel is dead steady
