You ended your post basically saying that CRE trucks are like numero uno on the list of trucks that have their bumper lights on all the time and improperly aimed. It wasn't until after I quoted you when you, in a way, got more specific.
But I hate to break to ya though, it won't prove nothing or back your initial opinion up.
I see lots of four-wheelers doin it. Lots of swift trucks doin it. Lots of owner/op trucks doin it. Just because I may see the most of them as swift trucks for example, I'm not just gonna start pickin' on swift for it. Most of the trucks runnin' up and down the road at night are guilty of it. -
I don't prefer highbeams to signal me over after passing but I still give the thank-you flash because at least the driver I just passed went out of his/her way to signal me over. -
I do not thank drivers for blinding me.

Some trucks(company) have day time running lights with no interupter so a quick high beam might be all you get ,,

The courtosy of flashing your lights comes from when we use to run a lot of two lane roads, before interstates were as common as now.
i.e. I use to run US 30 from Portland to Salt Lake when I 80N (yes, that's right...I-84 use to be called I-80N) was largely not built yet.
When another truck passed you by using the oncoming lane, you flashed your headlights (off, on) to indicate he had passed you and it was safe to return to his lane. You did this as soon as he was past you. It allowed him back into the lane sooner than he could tell by watching his mirrors.
Today's practice is largely not needed. We travel 4, 6, 8 lane freeways where the passing driver has plenty of time to acertain his distance from your rig, then move over safely.
And as long as we're on the subject, how about some courtosy here, drivers. If there's no reason to move right back into the lane, how about making sure you're at least a truck length ahead before moving back?

I do not run up within three truck lengths of you. What the hell makes you think I won't you back over in front of me within a half truck length?
*Note I am using you in the general sense.

I guess the reason I'm not blinded by the highbeam flash is because for one, I'm not constantly lookin at that right-side mirror as I pass, two, I don't stare at the mirror for too long as I just make quick looks at it so if the highbeams do come on, its only for a nano second that I see it and three, if i wait till my dot bumper gets about 25, 30 feet in front of the truck I'm passing, I can almost know exactly when not to look at the mirror at that particular moment and rely on my peripherals to see the signal. If they use their highbeams, no harm, no foul as I wasn't looking directly at the mirror.
But that's just me I spose.
As I said, I don't prefer the brights, but since I know how to avoid being blinded by them, I'm not going to not give the thanks blink, blink if I get them as I pass.
Besides, I've only seen a few four-wheelers that blink the lights rather than use the highbeams so what's the difference if a truck does it?
I'll flash if its necessary but if it ain't, you ain't gettin one. Depending on my mood, if you flash your tails at me anyways, you might get a few quick yanks of the "flash-to-pass" lever just to remind you to drive your own ###### truck. I know how long my rig is and I don't need to be told when to come back over, so let go of the old times and get over it.Last edited: Dec 2, 2011
