Hello, I’m getting an abs fault code (axle 2 right) does anyone know if the rear tandem is axle 2 or is the middle axle considered axle 2?

    thank you

Thank you! I pulled of that wheel cleaned the speed sensor and the light is still on. Wonder if it’s worth replacing the sensor.

I paid MHC a bunch of money to fix this a while back and my abs light still comes on. Not sure what the problem is

Also getting a voltage above normal or shorted to high source DTC. Not sure if that’s abs related though.

Paccar product I take it? unfortunately they have electronic issues, may not even be an ABS issue. Had to replace wiring harness and PC to fix the issue in mine to resolve the problem. then I traded in and got another truck not Paccar

Most abs sensors are the same when testing. They should have about 900 to 2000 ohms of resistance and when you put your multimeter on AC volts and spin the wheel by hand, the sensor should generate an AC voltage of about 0.3 volts or higher.

I have a 98 Kenworth W900 with an N14. Prior owner did a motor swap. I’ve always had an abs light issue. Doesn’t seem like shops like to troubleshoot electrical on old trucks. Figured I better try to fix it.

Try replacing the harness from sensor to ecu. I did the same thing, replaced sensor, turned out to be the wires going to it. Had same thing happen on my trailer. Now if I have a problem, I first try to push the sensor in, then replace the harness, before sensor. Usually the case. Harness is delicate. Sensor isn’t.

I checked resistance on the sensor. Didn’t notice anything out of line from the other sensor but it’s hard to get the multimeter diodes on the plugs. Figured I don’t have a lot of time to work on this so I bought a new sensor from mhc... plus I like throwing parts at it .

a new sensor didn’t fix my issue. Went around the block and my light is still on. I’ll look more at the wire coming from the harness tomorrow.

I'd do as @Heavyd suggested. See if you're even generating a signal. For all you know the tone ring in the back of the hub could be missing or never was installed if the hub was replaced at one point. Hate to see somebody toss $$$$$$ at parts for something simple like that.
