What others have said.... DO NOT discuss this- tell him his choices are emergency care NOW or a coroner shortly; then IMMEDIATELY call an ambulance or swing into the nearest ER/hospital....Also, notify your office ASAP as to the seriousness of the situation! If he's too ignorant to look after his own well being, at the very least cover your own posterior!!!

I second this, don't let him drive.
USE this thing they call the internet, find an ER dentist and take his butt there. There is no excuse for him to be in the truck, in pain and can't drive. IF he doesn't like that, call the owner of the company (assuming you are still with Dave) and tell him or someone there what's going on, Dave won't let this happen. -
I hope we get an update...

Actually IF he has a dr or dentist at home--all he needs to do is make a call and have a script for anit-biotics called in somehwere close(been there done that LOL)and as mentioned earlier--no real point in finding a dentist right now---cuz they aint gonna do nothing--till he has run a course of anti biotics--they wont touch the tooth until the infection is under control...
As for pain--everyones tolerence is different--but switching off between tylenol and motrin every 3-4 hours....works pretty well for me..and they are both perfectly acceptable to drive with.....Rocks Thanks this. -
Hi 'olhand, that's true, matter of fact, all this talk about bad teeth, is making one of MY hot ones flare up. While I'll agree, an infection is usually the time even I will do something, but the pain does come and go. Another thing people tend to forget about, usually the ones with ins. coverage for teeth, is the cost of dentistry today. A simple extraction ( nothing simple about it) in an emergency situation can be 3-500 dollars or more, and sometimes people just don't have the money. It's why they are in this situation to begin with, at least for me. Teeth, one of God's cruelest mistakes.'olhand Thanks this.

I agree, if he's feeling sick it's probably the onset of some kind of septic symptom. He needs to go to the hospital now. I had a friend who had an abcessed tooth and refused to get it treated. His wife said on the first day it started acting up it was pain, then next two days were pain, sick feeling, and finally swelling of the side of his face leading to him passing out. She called an ambulance and he died two days later in the hospital.
I have two rotten teeth falling out in the back of my mouth, piece by piece. I have been in so much pain from one of them while driving that I was crying and had to pull over because I thought I was going to pass out. They always seem to quit hurting right before I pull the trigger on a dentist visit, though.
