I've been driving about four months now. My current job doesn't not require any endorsements beyond my class A. I'd like to make myself more marketable for opportunities down the road. I's like to get my P stamp for sure. What else is suggested?
Thanks.
Adding endorsements to my CDL?

What do you want to do? Hazmat, tankers and double triples. That's all there is. HaZmat tells employers you already passed a background check. I think p has a background check too. Twic that's another one, it's a card for refineries and ports. That is same/similar to hazmat background check.Last edited: Feb 20, 2026
Bean Jr., Trucker61016, Arctic_fox and 2 others Thank this. -
You could obtain a Department of Defense clearance in order to haul top secret weaponry for MI6 and James Bond Inc.
Flat Earth Trucker and nextgentrucker Thank this. -
Why? A bus endorsement doesn’t make you more attractive to anyone but a school bus company.
Bean Jr., Speedy356 and GoneButNotForgotten Thank this. -
To get the "P" on your CDL, You have to take the skills test again in a bus. At least you do in Arkansas and Texas.Bean Jr., brian991219, Speedy356 and 2 others Thank this.

Get all the endorsements and also a Passport or Passport Card.

I'd jump off a bridge before I hauled self-loading freight with a P endorsement. Leaky HazMat drums are less trouble than people.
I'd make sure to have Doubles/Triples, Tanker, HazMat -
Hazmat and tanker will do you the most good. I'm with @tscottme no way I could drive a bus full of people.

It's a requirement everywhere for a P endorsement.
If you already have a CDL A, you get a restriction for "No Class A bus".
Pictured twice: A "Class A" bus.Sons Hero, Bean Jr., brian991219 and 3 others Thank this.
