Nope, nice truck though! I was just pondering new truck ideas the other day, wondering what gunmetal/black, with only shiney wheels and bumper would look like haha beauty
-
Not bad, maybe charcoal the top of the hood all the way to glass that way sunshine going early or late does not blind you all day.
That is pretty close to how I would do a rig if I had money and a paint gun etc. Really close. The shiny bumper throws it off though. Maybe candy black over it so it's dark but if you look good you can still see its chrome.alden2007 Thanks this. -
It is a popular swap up here. A friend of mine did it and what he did was order the engine and everything it took for the swap from some outfit in Oregon. This included pulleys and brackets to run the original ac comp, alt, etc. etc.
It was a simple swap on his part, as he was back on the road in less than a week.alden2007 Thanks this. -
Thx bud. I was about to change the bumper and do few things but the engine blow up now my shop saying would be better to swap to cat or Detroit 12.7 and done with it Cummins crap.

I'll find out Monday am done with Cummins for life it's not worth it am about to go broke coz the engine

I do like my cat, but I also like my detroits, depending on what kind of trucking you do, I would not discount a detroit, and it would be a cheaper option, I would imagine.

Just dry van for the most part to stay alive but I like the Detroit owned it before never had an issue with it until brought this one and give up the on my other one.

Dry van and legal loads, I would go with detroit, that would leave more cats for me. lol
As well as I like cats, if I was running legal loads in the lower 48 again and could get by with a 12.7 detroit, that is what I would have, just so much more economical over the long haul. I tend to keep a truck forever too though. -
I am curious, what did you coat your stacks with.
I had my wheels powder coated, and it worked well with one exception. I bought new wheels to coat for the steer axle, and should have either coated the old ones, or sand blasted them real good first.
